We operate with the understanding that it’s the communities in which we develop that afford us the privilege to be in business.
Why did we start?
Our founding directors, Brook Monahan (right) and David Handley (left) felt that community engagement within our industry needed a rethink, because they believed it had not been as proactive, transparent and authentic as it should. In response, they dedicated resources to form a Community Engagement team in May 2017 to improve our relationship with residents and operate in a much more proactive and respectful manner. The main objective is to ensure that you, as local residents, are informed of what is happening in your neighbourhood and have access to information that explains what is happening during the development and construction process. We are providing an avenue so that we can engage together if you wish.
What do we do?
Our primary goals are to engage with the community early, gain your feedback so we can align our developments to the local aspirations and create an open line of communication between us, so you can stay fully updated and informed. We genuinely aim to achieve these goals and are constantly trying to better our approach through the use of consulting specialists and industry bodies such as the UDIA. As we stay with our buildings for the long term, we seek ways to contribute and give back to this great region by embedding ourselves in the community. That’s why community engagement at Mosaic is our first thought and not our last.
Who are we?
Chris Boyle, Manager
Chris first joined Mosaic in October 2015 and started in the development team as a Development Manager. As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a Degree in Building Surveying, Chris knows the industry, has built relationships within it and importantly he also understands how we can work better with communities. So Chris was the perfect candidate to oversee and manage the Community Engagement team. Now, his combined relationship and development knowledge enables him to clearly communicate with the community, council and our construction and development teams.
Ellie Watford, Assistant
Ellie was initially drawn to join Mosaic in February 2016 as she was studying her Bachelor of Business Management, majoring in Real Estate and Property Development. After starting in the marketing team, Ellie gained a wealth of knowledge with digital communication, social media and event planning which is now being utilised within Community Engagement, alongside her growing knowledge in construction and development.
